Ultimate Cupcakes Amoré

Have you ever experienced love at first bite? Try this. It's soooooooooooooooooooooo good! Did I mention it's good?

Ingredients:
  • Strawberry cupcake
  • Strawberry ice cream
  • Strawberry syrup
  • Marshmallows
  • Whipped cream
Directions: Carve a hole in the cupcake. Stuff ice cream and marshmallows inside. Smother with strawberry syrup. Add more marshmallows wherever they'll stick. Spray whipped cream on top, on all four sides, and around and around your plate. Spray some whipped cream in the air (just 'cause). Eat.

Yep, this concoction's got heartburn written all over it.
Kids love sweets. Sugary strawberries make a sweet treat. But this much sugar may be too much. Your child may complain of discomfort in her chest or throat. She may say it's hard to swallow.

Lunch Chez Grandpa

Mom wouldn't be cool with this meal in a million-bazillion years. But Grandpa is more… encouraging.

Ingredients:
  • Chicken noodle soup
  • Can of tuna
  • Ketchup
  • 1 bag of potato chips (or cheese curls)
  • Aerosol cheese
Directions:
Spray some cheese in your mouth for an appetizer. You're gonna get hungry while you whip this up. Warm the soup. Crunch the chips in the bag. Ladle some soup in a bowl; add ketchup and tuna. Make sure tuna floats to the top. Sprinkle crushed chips to taste. Drink from the bowl.

Uh-oh, looks like a recipe for acid indigestion.
It takes experience to know that aerosol and cheese don't mix. Eating too fast (or too much) may cause a child to feel stinging in her belly. But kids will be kids.

"Babysitter" Sandwiches P.B.Y.-Style

Kidsitters (babysitters are so five years ago) will make this only if you act like you have it all the time. When she asks, act real cool and say, “Yeah, we have this all the time.”

Ingredients:
  • Peanut butter
  • Mayo
  • Cheese puffs
Directions:
Have the kidsitter make the grilled mayonnaise and peanut butter sandwich. Then stuff in the cheese puffs after she grills it. That way it stacks higher, crunches louder, and gets everything oranger.

Yikes, this combo could be a recipe for heartburn!
When you go out for dinner and a show, the dinner choices back at home would make anyone say, "Whoa!"

Yep, acid indigestion could be on the way.
Indulging in too much Chocolate may feel choco-riffic at the time, but be ready if your child complains later of stinging or a bloated feeling.

Ballpark Blues Chili Dog

Take me out to the ballgame! Eat a chili corn dog with blue cotton candy on top. It'll turn your tongue true blue. Serve with caramel corn and soda.

Ingredients:
  • Corn dog in a paper tray
  • Chili topping
  • Cotton candy (blue)
  • Caramel corn
  • Soda pop
Directions:
Buy a corn dog at the concession stand. Buy those other ingredients. Take it all back to your seat. Put everything but the caramel corn and the soda on top of the corn dog. Make sure no foul balls are coming your way. Enjoy.

Uh-oh, looks like an upset stomach is definitely on the menu.
Cotton candy with chili is a party at the time, but they'll know it when the party's over. Particularly if they eat ballpark treats out in the hot, hot sun.

Key Lime Popcorn

Movies will give you the munchies. You NEED popcorn! But who says you have to stick to boring yellow. Try green. A little extra sugar makes popcorn stick to your hand—so you don't have to look away from the feature.

Ingredients:
  • Microwave popcorn
  • Green gelatin powder
  • Sugar to taste
Directions:
Tell your brothers and sisters to get their own! Microwave the popcorn. Mix green gelatin powder in the bag and shake. You'll love that it turns your tongue green, too!

Oh yeah, that's a recipe for sour stomach.
Usually we want our kids to eat more greens, but this treat with the added sugar can cause tummy woes if they munch too much. Children's Pepto has you covered.*

Birthday Party Bonanza

Check it out: Extra disguises mean extra servings of cake and ice cream. It's the perfect plan. When your friend's parents are dishing out cake, change outfits and go through the line as much as you want. Pack a bag of shirts or hats. Hold out your hands and look down at your shoes at the end of the line. Remember: Never bring your used plate back or you're toast.

  • Cake
  • Ice Cream

At special occasions, kids may overindulge. Keep an eye on their number of helpings and be prepared if they feel sub-par after the party.
